CONTEXT.IO - Night mode

OVERVIEW

Context.IO is a modern, scalable email API that brings IMAP into the 21st century. With Context.IO, developers can write RESTful code against an API. The API syncs with the email data so developers don't have to build, scale, and maintain the infrastructure themselves. Hundreds of applications with millions of users depend on Context.IO to deliver email syncing to their end-users.

Style Tiles

The Context.IO developers were a big fan of "vaporwave" style tile number two. Because the business chose to take it in a different direction, we decided to create a "night mode" as a little CSS easter egg that lived in the corner of the footer.

Iconography

I spent some time scanning the web for vaporwave techniques. Wikipedia defines it as,  "...a subculture often associated with an ambiguous or satirical take on consumer capitalism and popular culture, and tends to be characterized by a nostalgic or surrealist engagement with the popular entertainment, technology and advertising of previous decades. It also incorporates early Internet imagery, late 1990s web design, glitch art, and cyberpunk tropes in its cover artwork and music videos." After spending a lot of time on Reddit and Imgur, I developed the following icons in Photoshop.
